If the applicants are over 24 years of age, the applicant will just need to show the driver’s licenses. Otherwise the applicant needs to provide the birth certificate or a passport. The applicant also needs to provide the Social Security numbers. The applicant does not have to be a resident of New Mexico.
If previously married, the date of divorce or date of spouse’s death must be supplied.
There is no Covenant Marriage. There is no waiting period. There are no other tests.
In order to get married, a court order is necessary for anyone under 16 years of age. If the applicants are between 16 and 17 years old, the applicant will need parental consent.
Any ordained or licensed clergymen, and justices of the peace can be the officiants. The applicant needs two witnesses at the wedding ceremony.
License is valid for one year.
